Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”

Scripture

John 20:21

Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”

Reflect

Jesus doesn’t say, “Stay here and stay safe.” He says, “As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you.” The risen Christ sends wounded, forgiven disciples into a still-broken world. He doesn’t send them away from pain, but right into it. Why? Because resurrection is not meant to be hoarded—it’s meant to be shared.

The Father sent Jesus to enter suffering, not avoid it. Now, Jesus sends us, not to escape the Good Friday world but to bear resurrection hope inside it.

Mission is not an optional extra for the spiritually elite. It is the natural response of those who have seen the empty tomb.

Celebratory Activity

Ask Jesus: “Send me to someone today.” Be attentive. It could be an encouraging text, a listening ear, a small act of kindness.

Prayer

Risen Lord, You were sent, and now You send me. Make me brave, compassionate, and willing to carry resurrection into broken places. Amen.
