6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Scripture

Philippians 4:6-7

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Reflect

Before there were committees, plans, or strategies, there was prayer. From the early years of FGA, decisions were birthed in prayer meetings where people knelt on concrete floors, crying out to God. Not everything was certain then, but prayer anchored us. When the church had no building, we prayed. When leaders faced opposition, we prayed. When someone was sick, we prayed. Prayer rooms, pre-service intercession, and night vigils became the engine room of the church. The peace of God didn’t remove the struggles; it held us through them. Today, in a world of speed and strategy, God calls us back to that same place: prayer.

Celebratory Activity

Pause three times today, morning, afternoon, night, to whisper a simple prayer: “Lord, I trust You.”

Prayer

Lord, make us a praying church again. Thank You for every whispered prayer, every tear-stained intercession that has carried us these 40 years. Teach us not to worry first and pray later, but to pray first, trust first, and rest in Your peace. Amen.
