But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
“He was pierced for our transgressions… by His wounds we are healed.” Even in resurrection, Jesus keeps His scars. He doesn’t erase them; He transforms them.
Our wounds may remain, but resurrection offers this hope. They don’t define or destroy us. God can turn wounds into testimonies, cracks into places where His light shines through.
Being resurrection people isn’t pretending everything’s okay. It’s believing that in Christ, even the worst things can become places of healing, for us and for others.
Gently touch one part of your body, your heart, your hands, a scar, and pray: “Jesus, heal what is unseen and seen.”
Healer of hearts, thank You for keeping Your scars. Redeem my pain, and make my wounds wells of compassion. Amen.
