Psalm 23:4

Scripture

Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk

through the darkest valley,

I will fear no evil,

for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,

they comfort me.

Reflect

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” Resurrection does not promise the absence of valleys, only the presence of a Shepherd.

Jesus, the risen Shepherd, walks with us through grief, disappointment, anxiety, diagnosis, and loneliness. He doesn’t shout from a distance; He accompanies us.

Celebratory Activity

Hope is not denying the valley; it is trusting who walks beside us in it.

Take a slow walk today, down a hallway, street, or park. As you walk, whisper: “You are with me.”

Prayer

Shepherd of my soul, thank You that resurrection did not remove Your nearness. Walk with me through shadows, into light. Amen.
