12 May

6 Then the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. 7 Now when these signs meet you, do what your hand finds to do, for God is with you. 8 Then go down before me to Gilgal. And behold, I am coming down to you to offer burnt offerings and to sacrifice peace offerings. Seven days you shall wait, until I come to you and show you what you shall do.”

9 When he turned his back to leave Samuel, God gave him another heart. And all these signs came to pass that day.

Scripture

1 Samuel 10:6-9

6 Then the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. 7 Now when these signs meet you, do what your hand finds to do, for God is with you. 8 Then go down before me to Gilgal. And behold, I am coming down to you to offer burnt offerings and to sacrifice peace offerings. Seven days you shall wait, until I come to you and show you what you shall do.”

9 When he turned his back to leave Samuel, God gave him another heart. And all these signs came to pass that day.

Reflect

The most remarkable thing God did for Saul was not the anointing or the prophecy. It was the gift of a new heart. Before Saul could lead, he had to be changed. This is still how God works. FGA has been shaped not by the strength of its people, but by the Spirit’s quiet work of transformation, turning ordinary people into those who carry His presence. As we step into a new chapter, this is the prayer: do it again, Lord.

Celebratory Activity

Ask God to renew your heart for the church’s next chapter. Then write a one-sentence prayer for FGA’s future and share it with one other church partner today, by text, in person, or in your LifeGroup.

Prayer

Spirit of God, You gave Saul another heart for a new calling. Give us new hearts, too. Let our hearts be softened, surrendered, and ready for whatever You are about to do. We do not want to go forward in our own strength. We want Yours. Amen.
